McKynzie Salerno, an eighth grade student at St. Francis of Assisi School and member of the U14 White girls team, is organizing a soccer drive to collect soccer gear for kids in our community who, without donations, cannot take part in this sport.

She will be collecting donations of new or used soccer gear and sending them to the US Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program to provide desperately needed equipment to kids in local communities who don’t have the means to get equipment on their own. Congratulations to the West Geauga U-12 girls for a tremendous season. They started the spring with two hard losses, but from there on they never looked back. They went undefeated for the rest of the season with five wins and one tie. They faced division-leading Chagrin Falls on the second-last game of the season and won convincingly by 5 to 1. The girls’ final game against Hudson would determine the championship: win it and they win the division. After playing to 1 to 1 at the half, they came out as a team deserving of championship by beating Hudson 6 to 1. Way to go girls!

West Geauga u-14 White team won the Division I Championship.  They went undefeated in the spring at 6-0-2.  Including the fall season, they are undefeated on the year at 14-0-2.  This spring they outscored their opponents 32-13. Congrats to all the girls and coaches!
